What Our Patients Are Saying
What Is Naturopathic Wellness Coaching?
Naturopathic wellness coaching offers a person-centered approach to health that combines modern medical science with natural therapies. It focuses on supporting the whole person — not just managing the symptoms — and finding the root cause behind why you feel unwell.
If you've ever felt rushed, dismissed, or unsure of what's really going on in your body, the naturopathic approach can provide something a bit different — care that's thoughtful, well-informed, and built around you.
What does working with me typically include?
About Me
I'm Dr. Julia Navaro, a naturopathic doctor licensed in California, working virtually with clients across the country. In Indiana, I offer health and wellness coaching personalized support to help you understand what your body needs and why.
My path to this work was personal. In my twenties, I struggled to find care that was both accessible and genuinely supportive — I'd leave appointments with a prescription but no real understanding of what was happening in my body. Later, watching my grandmother navigate multiple chronic conditions, I saw firsthand how even the most dedicated physicians are often limited by time and systems that prioritize quick fixes over whole-person healing.
That's what brought me to naturopathic medicine — and why I built a practice around the kind of care I was looking for: grounded in science, guided by nature, and built around the complexity of real human lives.

No. I work virtually with clients across Indiana and throughout the country. Evansville and the broader metro area are welcome.

Everything happens online through secure video — no commute, waiting rooms, or time off work. You'll get personalized guidance, lab recommendations when appropriate, secure messaging, flexible scheduling, and in-depth care with more one-on-one time. Services vary by state, and I'll explain what's available to you during your discovery call.
-
Recommendations vary, but may include personalized nutrition, targeted supplements, botanical medicine, lifestyle therapy, and mind-body approaches. Everything is tailored to your body, your goals, and your capacity.
-
In Indiana, my services are provided as wellness coaching and do not include prescribing medications. When prescription support may be appropriate, I partner with Lyv Health — a licensed medical team that can prescribe select medications for eligible clients.
-
There's overlap — both focus on root-cause healing and personalized care. However, naturopathic medicine is a distinct licensed medical profession with its own philosophy, education, and therapeutic tools. NDs are trained as primary care providers and also receive in-depth education in natural therapies that many functional medicine practitioners are not formally trained to use.
-
At this time, I do not accept insurance. Naturopathic wellness consulting is often not covered by health insurance, particularly in states where it is not yet licensed or regulated. I operate as a direct-pay practice, which allows me to provide more personalized, unhurried care without the limitations of insurance networks.
-
Yes. I require clients living outside of California to maintain a relationship with a licensed primary care provider (PCP).
-
Yes. I can assist with ordering labs and often go further by offering specialty testing for hormones, gut health, nutritional status, inflammation, toxins, and more. If you already have recent labs, I'm happy to review and incorporate them into our work together.
-
Licensed Naturopathic Doctors complete four years of rigorous medical training, including anatomy, pathology, and evidence-based natural therapies such as nutrition, herbal medicine, and lifestyle counseling. NDs are trained to understand how all the body's systems are connected and to take the time needed to truly get to know you, your story, and your health goals.
A note on scope: Naturopathic medicine is regulated differently across states. I'm a licensed naturopathic doctor, and the specific services available to you depend on the licensing status in your state. For clients in states where naturopathic medicine is not regulated as a medical profession, my services are provided as wellness consultations — education, lifestyle guidance, nutrition, and whole-person support — and are not a substitute for care from your primary care provider or specialists. What's available in your state will be explained on the discovery call.
